Tomorrow, Isaac will be 5 months.  I truly feel so blessed that God has given us the opportunity for me to stay home with Isaac and watch him change day by day.  He is overall a pretty happy baby. He still only sleeps 2 hours at a time during at night, gets up to eat, and goes right back to sleep. He does go to sleep by 7-8pm and is usually up between 6-7 am. Can't complain about that!  He has just started to roll from stomach to back, but not the other way around.  He loves is exersaucer and amazes me at how he can spin and turn the toys on it. He is completely in size 6-9 month clothes now.

He absolutely lights up at the sight of Daddy and loves to babble to him when he gets home from work. Loves to grab Daddy's hat of his head!

Isaac has begun to eat a little rice cereal at night.  We thought we would try it to see if it helped him sleep any longer.  It doesn't, but he seems to enjoy the act of eating though.  Doesn't surprise me...

He has been pretty good at learning how to fall asleep on his own.  The longest crying episode was the first attempt at 35 minutes.  Otherwise he will go to sleep usually under 10 minutes.

He is now enjoying being on his tummy a bit more and pushing himself up very well.  It's so much fun to watch him change everyday now.

I get a kick out of Isaac reading out loud when I read him a book.  Please don't tell him that Mommy skips a few pages to get to the end.  It's our little secret until he's old enough to figure it out on his own! :-)

Isaac is now 4 months old.

16 lbs 1 oz
23 3/4 inches
He enjoys morning time and is a happy, smiling baby when he wakes up.
He still only sleeps 2 hours at a time at night, but Mom has just gotten used to it.
Loves to see Daddy when he gets home. Instant smiles at the sight of him!
His favortite sound to make is "Ghee" and will mimick back a conversation with that wonderful sound.
Holds his head up strong and high.
Grasps items and puts them in mouth.
Is beginning to enjoy "tummy time"...kind of.
We love to watch him change everyday!!!

We went up to Winter Park for our first overnight get-a-way with Isaac.  The annual Prendergast visit was great and nice to see everyone again.  They all enjoyed playing with and holding Isaac. He slept the whole way to the mountains and he was on his best behavior until the evening. I don't know if it was over-stimulation or knowing he was not at home, but he fussed, cried, and screamed through the night.  He has now learned how to scream and hear his own voice.  Unfortunately, that new learning has been a daily occurance.  Joe was able to get out snowboarding for the first time all season.  It's very unlike him, but with the new daddy duties, he just hasn't made it up there until now.  I'm glad he was able to at least go for 1 full day.  Isaac did sleep the whole way back down the mountian and took extra long needed naps when we got home.  I can't believe that next year when we visit again, he'll be walking.  Crazy!

Isaac was very lucky to have Meema and Pop Pop come out to Colorado for the Holidays.  Pop Pop has the magic touch and was Isaac's new best friend and napping buddy.  It was great to free up Mommy's arms for a little while.  He loved playing with Meema and "Mrs. Muse the Moose" (a fun Christmas gift from Aunt Sam named by Meema). Joe's cousin Devin and son Tyler made the drive from Utah to spend Christmas day with us too!  What a joy to watch Tyler put out cookies for Santa and wake up to see them eaten and presents under the tree.

Thanks to my wonderful husband, I now have a new mommy-mobile too!  Joe's dad, Bubby, made the 2 day drive out here a week early as we bought their old vehicle.  A Christmas miracle of our own was when we sold my little red 2-door Alero late on Christmas Eve night to our friend Ed.  He picked it up Christmas morning for a surprise gift for his teenage son.  We didn't have to sit with an extra car in the driveway! Go God!  He has such amazing timing!  And best of all, Joe has his truck back!!! :-)

When my mom was out earlier in December, she brought with her Isaac's Christmas gifts.  Isaac sure enjoyed being spoiled by Gamma Shaw.  Well, I must say he was spoiled by all of his aunts and uncles.  A big THANK YOU to you all!!!  He has lots of new outfits and toys that he loves!

Isaac loved his new toy from Gamma Shaw.  It was a gumball-like machine that has balls and a lever.  Lots of lights and noise the Isaac liked!  Thanks Gamma Shaw!

Kodah and Balin sniffed out their presents.  They knew they has some new toys in that wrapping!
