Isaac's First Easter

We had a nice, relaxing Easter weekend.  No traveling or big cooking, so it was pretty low key.  Isaac is about 7 1/2 months old and tries to climb all over and prefers to walk while being held.  Still not caring to crawl yet, but has begun sleeping 3-5 hour spans at night.  That's making momma very happy!  He is enjoying sitting up in the grocery carts now (love the floppy cart cover!)  and plays shy and smiles at the ladies in the checkout lines.

7 months

Isaac - 7 months old

At 7 months old, Isaac is getting his 2 bottom teeth and is loving to chew everything.  He sits up, rolls over, and is beginning to climb around.  Still not crawling though.  He still gets so excited when Daddy comes home and wants to be held by Daddy whenever possible.  Loves to look at books and play with his toys.  Besides Daddy, Kodah and Balin (the dogs) have also become a jungle gym he wants to play on. We have moved up to 2-3 hours of sleeping at a time now!  Woo hoo! He is an absolute blessing in our lives!!!

The Christmas Puppy (Part II)

So, we are no longer afraid of the Christmas puppy.  It has now turned into a teething toy! :-)

The Christmas Puppy

A Christmas gift from my brother which Isaac loved that day.  But he has been so afraid of this thing for the last few months.  I had to capture him beginning to enjoy it again.  At the very end, I like how he notices his own hand.

We have a tooth!  At 27.5 weeks (almost 6 1/2 months old), Isaac's first tooth just broke through.  So far, just a little extra fussiness but no fever or anything yet. So, I am thinking these will be the last pictures of the toothless baby's smile...now on to the next milestone.  Each milestone is kinda bittersweet for me.  You look forward to them, but then are kinda sad that they are growing up so fast. 

 

Isaac - Curious as ever @ 6 months

Isaac is curious as ever.  Reaching, grabbing, putting in mouth, and dropping anything and everything.  Loves to make his toys work and is constantly exploring.  He is sitting up pretty well now, rolls over, and reaches his arms for Daddy to pick him up. No signs of teeth, but still lots of chewing and drooling.

At his 6 month checkup he weighed in at 18 lbs 8 oz. (75th percentile) and 26 inches (25th percentile).

His first solid (other than rice cereal) was sweet potatoes which he seemed to love.  Or maybe he just liked seeing Mommy and Daddy's overly excited reaction everytime he took a bit.  "Ooooh....YUM, way to go Isaac!!!  YEAH!!!" 

Now that the sun is shining and warming up outside, he has been loving walks in the park.  Just sits back and relaxes in his stroller listening and watching all the wonderful sounds of nature!
