With all the DYI projects on my wishlist, I wanted to make a growth chart for the boys. At my Mom and Dad's old house, we all would keep track of the our heights and the grandkids' heights over the years. I knew I would love to continue this tradition and have something I could take from home to home with us. But what started out as needing a piece of scrap wood and paint quickly turned into a very laborous but beautiful addition to Isaac's room. And what once was going to be my DYI project turned into Joe shopping, sanding, staning, and wood-burning this amazing piece for us to track our children's heights. Isaac was the first to try it out! He must have inhereted some of his Uncle Cory, cause he immediately stood on his tippy toes when getting his height measured.

Weight - 12 lbs 2.5 oz (42nd percentile)
Height - 22.75in (22nd percentile)
Head Circumference - 38.7 cm (11th percentile)
Levi continues to be such a laid back wonderful baby! He loves to coo and laugh, especially when he first wakes in the morning. He will have nice 2-4 hour naps during the day and 2-3 hour spurts at night. He loves to be talked to and enjoys being held nice and tight. He is also one ticklish boy!

Isaac has gone through a big growth spurt the past couple of months. He's over 27 lbs now (24 months clothes) and hopefully done teething until the last of the molars come in at age 2.
He has transitioned into his new room and new toddler bed so easily. No whining or crying. I cna just read him a story and tuck him in and he goes to bed without a fit. Since there is no longer a crib for "timeout," his new "timeout chair" has also been an easy transition...almost too easy. When told to go to timeout, he goes to his chair and sits there quietly until being allowed down. It's a little comical that when I ask if he wants to go to timeout, he says "yes." I almost debate doing something else other than timeout if he enjoys it so much.
His speech continues to improve and he is picking up new words every day. The cutest lately is when he knows he needs to do (or is told to do) something he repeats, "I know, I know, I know."
He continues to test boundaries with Mommy, but overall is a very good boy. I just can't believe how "easy" he learns and picks up new concepts. It seems like I just need to show him once and he understands. Amazing little boy!

It took Isaac less than 5 minutes to run off with Aunt O to show her all of his toys in his new room. Joe's sister, Olivia, came to visit and help out for 5 days. It was great and the boys absolutely loved her!!! By the end of her visit, she had figured out how to manage both kids so well!!! Boy, I wish we lived closer!!!
It was day 3 of being home with the boys all day by myself. All of the visitors from the past 6 weeks had returned to their homes. Isaac was in timeout in his crib for hitting mommy. Mommy goes downstairs to put in a load of laundry. When timeout was over, she returned to get Isaac out of crib, but when she enters his room, she finds him smiling a big smile and playing on the FLOOR. Shocked to see Isaac out of the crib, she excitedly placed him back into the crib and said, "Oh no, Isaac, what did you do?" He proceeded to smile big and then he lifted his short little leg as high as it could reach over the crib railing and pulled himself up and over the crib. Mommy was devastated, Isaac was thrilled.
It was one thing to see your child growing up so fast that they can manage to crawl out of the crib, but it was the one safe place I could put him when needing to attend to his newborn brother. So, we converted his crib to a toddler bed and moved it to his new room. Night one was a pleasant surprise as we read a book and he went to bed with no problems. A few hours later he fell out of his bed and went right back to sleep so, I left him be. I watched him throughout the night on the video monitor as he inched and rolled his way around the room. But woke up happy and rested. Night two he stayed in his bed all night. What a great Mother's Day gift from my toddler who switched to his new room and new bed without too much issue at all. Let's just hope his new "time-out" chair will work out with just as little headaches for mommy.
